Interaction with Mr Raveendran

Mr Arun Raveendran, Director, Foradian Technologies Pvt Ltd

The Department of Business Administration, Shree Devi Institute of Technology organised a guest lecture as a part of the MBA students interaction with the industry on 21st March, 2013 by Mr Arun Raveendran. Mr Raveendran is the director of Foradian Technologies Pvt Ltd.

He explained about how the Company has pioneered in Fedena - the School Management System and lead the innovation in the education industry. This system is adopted by more than 40,000 schools in India.

Prof. (Lt Cdr) P. K. Suresh Kumar, HOD presided over the function. Ms Rubiya Safreen was the MC for the program. The MBA students, and the staff of the Department of Business Administration participated in this interactive session.

AICTE has decided to conduct an additional online CMAT examination in May 2013 for admission for the academic year 2013- 2014 in order to facilitate those candidates who could not appear in the earlier CMAT due to late notification issued by few State Governments. Only those candidates who could not avail two opportunities for appearing in CMAT during the year 2013-2014, would be allowed to appear in the CMAT (Additional Test) scheduled in 57 cities from 19th May to 22nd May, 2013. The online registration window will be open from 10th March, 2013 to 10th April, 2013 on website www.aicte-cmat.in.

Guest lecture by entreprenuer Mr Mithun Bhat Kakunje

A guest lecture was organised by the Department of Business Administration, Shree Devi Institute of Technology on 13th March, 2013 by Mr Mithun Bhat Kakunje on entreprenuership.

The MBA students and the faculty of the Department of Business Administration participated in this interactive lecture.

Mr Mithun Bhat Kakunje is aged at 29 Years, married to Supriya. He did his schooling at various places across South India, studied B.Com (2001-04 Batch) at Canara College, Mangalore Studied MBA (2004-06 Batch) at T A Pai Management Institute, Manipal - specializing in Marketing and HR. Participated in many inter-collegiate commerce and business events, and won many awards. Worked at HSBC for about 5 years: Campus placement at HSBC Asset Management at Kolkata as an Assistant Manager – Sales & Distribution, and then moved to Cochin, Kerala. After a short stint at Kochi, headed the Trivandrum Branch of HSBC AMC (Asset Management Company) for a year, and then handled entire Kerala as a region for the next year. Post this, moved to Bangalore as Portfolio Management Services Specialist for South India before resigning from the job designated as Associate Vice President - Sales & Distribution. Was part of 6 product launches over the period of the 5 years at HSBC. Has given lectures and seminars on Business Startups, Marketing Strategy, Distribution Channels, Business Plans and Entrepreneurship at B-Schools and Degree Colleges like Manipal Institute of Management; School for Communication and Management Studies, Cochin; St. Joseph Engineering College and Canara College, Mangalore Currently running own business in two distinct lines - A small scale industry manufacturing plastic films & sheets, and food outlets at various places in Mangalore & Bangalore (Kakunje Polypacks and Kakunje Foods)

Dr K. E. Prakash Appointed as the Registrar of VTU

Dr K E Prakash has been appointed as registrar of the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum.

Dr Prakash, Principal, Shri Devi Institute of Technology, (SDIT), Kenjar, Mangalore, has over 23 years of teaching and research experience in Civil Engineering. He obtained his BE degree from Mysore University, ME from Gulbarga University, MIT (Information Technology) from MAHE University, Manipal, and doctorate from Kuvempu University, Shimoga.

Basics of HR and the recent trends an invited lecture by Dr Ajay Aryan

The Department of Business Administration, Shree Devi Institute of Technology organised a invited guest lecture on  Basics of HR and the recent trends in HR on 24th January, 2013. The resource person of the program was Dr Ajay Aryan. 

Dr Aryan is a Company Secretary and has got more than 17 years of experience in various industries. His academic qualification including  PhD in Human Resource and Masters in Business Administration in HR and other management specialisation.

Lecture on Time Management by Rev. Fr Alwin Serrao

The Department of Business Administration of Shree Devi Institute of Technology organised a guest lecture on Time Management on 16th January, 2013. Rev. Fr Alwin Serrao, Principal, Rosario College, Mangalore was the resource person of the program. He stressed on the need for time management and how time management is very essential for every manager. 

The students were given questionnaire to find the level of time management skill that they have. Ms Veena G. was the MC for the program and Mr Muzamil K. led the prayer song. Mr Navin Kumar, Assistant Professor welcomed the gathering. Dr K. E. Prakash, Principal, SDIT presided over the function.
