Shri Krishna Janmashtami celebrated with fervour in SDIT

Shri Krishna's Janmashtami was celebrated with traditional gaiety and religious fervour at the SDIT Campus, Mangalore on 31st August, 2013.

Students came together and joined in the act of breaking pots by forming pyramids. As every year, this time too it made a breathtaking sight for all those who had gathered at the campus to watch the spectacle. Dr Dilip Kumar, Principal, SDIT, the H.O.D's of various departments and the staff members witnessed the ‘Mosaru Kudike”, cheering the participants throughout.

"Risk Leads to Success" Mr Anand Kumar S. K.

The invited guest lecture was delivered by Mr Anand Kumar S. K., Managing Director, Master Plannery, Puttur on 23rd August, 2013 at the Auditorium. Mr Anand Kumar highlighted the opportunities available and on the ethics to be followed by entrepreneurs. Speaking in the lecture, he highlighted on the point of how the jobs are created through entrepreneurship.

Master Plannery uses concood (a name given for concrete that looks like wood) to produce everything that can be made out of wood and even a few other things for which wood is not used ranging from desks, benches, tables, chairs, sofas, cots, doors and windows to ventilators, ceiling, rafters, panel boards, fence poles, kennels, ladders, staircase and much more.

Independence Day Celebrated at Shree Devi Education Trust

67th Independence Day of India was celebrated on 15th August, 2013 near the Shree Devi Education Trust Office, Ballalbagh. Dr Dilip Kumar K., Principal of Shree Devi Education Trust hoisted the flag. All the students and staff saluted the tricolour flag with great respect and honour. This was followed by singing of the National Anthem which arouses feelings of patriotism in the gathering. Addressing the gathering Dr Dilip Kumar K., Principal, SDIT gave a call to the youth to use their freedom wisely.

The program was organised by the Shree Devi College of Hotel Management.

Guest Lecture on Global Business Scenario and Challenges for MBA's

An invited guest lecture was delivered by Dr Dileep Kumar Mohanachandran, Professor, University Utara Malaysia, Sintok, Kedah, Malaysia on 12th August, 2013. The guest lecture was organised by the Department of Business Administration, Shree Devi Institute of Technology to help the students understand the global business scenario and what challenges are faced by the MBA's. Dr Dileep Kumar M. stressed on the point of how the times have changed and that the students should look at what the industry wants and try to acquire those skills.  He stressed on how the technology drives the management and why the MBA's today need to be updated with the latest software's and technology used in the industry today.

Guest Lecture on New Product Development and Visual Merchandising

An invited guest lecture was delivered by Mr A.S. Venkatesh and Mr Elroy Monis on the topic New Product Development and Visual Mechendising on 8th August, 2013. The guest lecture was organised to update the students on the recent developments in the field of marketing. 

Guest Lecture on Mind Power Magic by Mr Ramani Venkat

An interactive guest lecture was delivered by Mr Ramani Venkat, Co-founder of Varnaaz Leaders Factory on 7th August, 2013 at the Seminar Hall, Shree Devi Institute of Technology. The Department of Business Administration organised this lecture as a part of series of lectures for the students to have an interaction with the corporate world.

MBA Students Excel

The 2011-13 batch of MBA of SDIT students have excelled in the IV semester exams, as per the results declared by the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum on 25th July, 2013 . Out of the 77 results that were declared, 23 students have secured a First Class with Distinction, 52 students have secured a First Class and 1 Second class. The overall result of the MBA students is 99% which is one of the highest in the region. 

Ms Syama Raveendran has topped the result by securing 925 out of 1200 marks, followed by Ms Rubiya Safreen who has secured 920 marks.

Congratulations to all the students and the faculty for recording the highest result.

Sayonara: A farewell program for Second Year MBA Students

The farewell for the 2011-13 batch of MBA students of SDIT was organised by the first year MBA students on 28th May, 2013 at the College Auditorium. Dr Dilip Kumar K., Principal, SDIT and Lt Cdr. (Prof.) P. K. Suresh Kumar, H.O.D., of the Department of Business Administration were present on the dais.
